But first, here’s a look back at our past

RDA has roots that stretch back to 1980. Founded by my father as Rick Davies Associates, RDA was built on the idea that
trusted  relationships and tailored advice were the foundation of success in life and business.

More than just improving a business’ tax affairs, my father believed helping business owners improve their understanding
was at the heart of genuinely great results – and this remains a cornerstone of the RDA philosophy today. 

2015

A few short years after taking leadership of RDA, we were ranked by BDO Australia as the 15th fastest growing business in South Australia. This recognition of our innovation and success was a nice achievement to add to an email footer. Still, more importantly, it meant our mission to help drive real change for real business owners was working. 

2013

After watching my father (with help from Mum) build an accounting firm from the ground up, it was my turn to take the lead. Rick Davies Associates became RDA with a more modern flavour and focus from one generation to the next. The new RDA was built on the idea that many small and medium business owners were at a disadvantage due to poor or non-existent information when it came to decision making. With the goal of helping SME owners use better data to make better decisions, I brought my experience in corporate transformation (business improvement) projects. This allowed me to help SMEs capture data and use facts (rather than gut instinct) to make better business decisions, reduce risk, and secure their family’s futures by confidently setting and achieving higher goals.

2017

After the success of RDA supporting our Adelaide clients, the time was right to expand. The opening of our new office in Melbourne meant greater opportunity to support our Australia-wide clients.

2016

As our client results improved, I knew I needed support to continue delivering the best possible service. I was thrilled to welcome Selina Liu as a second director with a wealth of practical tax knowledge and a focus on improving business efficiency. Having previously been heading up our tax advisory service, Selina’s additional expertise and support allowed me to continue to grow the business advisory side of RDA.

Bio

Empowering people to grow in business is why I took over RDA in 2013. Having enjoyed a diverse working background between Australia and the UK, I’ve had the privilege to work with brilliant minds and learn a lot of corporate business tricks. I love working as a team to give small business owners get a competitive advantage.

In my “thinking time” I enjoy being around fellow motorsport enthusiast, tennis players and golfers. I value learning and evolution. With a curious mind, I actively look for opportunities to grow and learn about new skills and gain knowledge from people who are exceptional in their chosen pursuits.
